Our Church Team

Day to day the church is administered by the Parochial Church Council - a team led by the vicar, two Churchwardens, Deanery Synod Representatives and elected members. They usually meet once a month and deal with the maintenance, finance and direction of the church. PCC members are keen to hear any suggestions you may have or will try to answer any questions.

Our Church Wardens are Yvonne and Derrick.

Support and help comes from many more people: At services you will, depending upon which services you come to, see members of the teams who greet and welcome visitors, sidesmen, servers, administrators, those who read the lessons, and those who serve refreshments; as well as seeing and hearing our choir. Heard but not seen are our bell ringers.

Seldom seen are those who clean the church, polish the brass, arrange the flowers, tend to the candles, replace lights, tidy the grounds and mow the grass. But without all of these people the church would be a very different place.

If you contact our office you will talk to our volunteer office helpers.

Away from the church building we have our team of pastoral visitors and those who help organise social and fund raising events.

In total a team of people each contributing their individual skills and capabilities to help make St Anne's what it is.

We make a point of not publishing personal details on the Internet, so should you wish to contact anyone mentioned please do so via the Church Office, using the message pad if you wish, or speak to one of the welcomers at a service.

What it means to be a Christian.

Christian life is lived in relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and in common with other Christians in the church seeking to deepen that relationship and to follow the way that Jesus taught.

For Christians God is understood and known as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

…Father… God is love, caring for creation and for every human being as God's beloved child.

…Son… God is as he has revealed himself to be in the historical person of Jesus Christ. Jesus' life, death and resurrection holds the key to knowing and loving God, and to making sense of life, before and after death.

…and Holy Spirit… God is alive, loving and active today, inspiring faith, justice and truth, sustaining the life of the world, giving spiritual gifts to the church and bearing his spiritual fruit in the world - changed lives and a transformed society.
